Zooey Deschanel has teamed up with Hello Giggles creator Sophia Rossi to form a new television production company.
The star of New Girl wrote a television script and pitched it to Fox last year.
The two just announced that Fox were happy with it and have penned a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV.
“We've known Zooey as an actress through New Girl, and as we got to know her as a producer through the script she developed, we quickly realized that there is so much more to her," 20th TV chairman Gary Newman said.
“Zooey and Sophia have their finger on the pulse of young people and particularly young women, and we really responded to that.”
The two tried their hand at producing last September with ‘Must Be Nice’, a new comedy written by New Girl’s consulting producer J.J. Philbin.
"Must Be Nice" is about a single, chaotic 27-year-old who moves in with her more responsible, 34-year-old, married sister.
The new deal means we should see one or two new TV shows with Zooey at the helm!
