In this episode, Whitney and Alex attempt a romantic shared shower but it goes as you'd expect – almost casually drowning with water streaming into your face, slipping over when you try to change places… there's none of this Hollywood steamy romanticising!
Whitney comes to realise that she never had proper 'first date' with Alex:
"We never got to flirt and have that sexy tension."
"That's because we had actual sex. You know that's way better right?"
So that's what she spends this episode doing. Although Alex thinks she's a bit crazy – and he does have a point. He has no idea if he's supposed to pretend he knows nothing about her, or even if he should play another person.
"If I can be someone else, am I allowed to be Jason Statham?"
But the demanding Whitney decides to make up more rules as she goes.
"Be yourself just pretend we don't know each other yet cause it's our first date. Like um, tell me a story that I've never heard before. And only I can call Time Outs – "Time In!""
Alex just can't go along with this scheme and decides to undo his top button after a full meal. Of course, this proves too much for Whitney who just wants to be courted by a gentleman.
In she goes to the apartment and out Alex is locked.
Now, I don't know about you but if I did this just because I wanted my boyfriend to court me a bit more, I don't think he'd be too pleased. I would probably end up having to apologise to him! But Alex is a pushover for Whitney – and he's probably used to her.
"So are you still playing the game?" asks Roxanne
"I'm not 100% sure, but I'm not giving up!"
Her next tactic is what she always did when she was single – dress up "slutty" and try to bump into them.
Not a bad tactic, come to think of it…
Anyway! I love the next part - 'playing it cool'.
"What's up?"
"Nothing! Oh just you know, been super busy"
"Oh yea me too! Things have been uber cray-cray!"
No one wants to seem like they were sitting by their phone after a first date. Even if they were…
Finally, after all Alex has to go through, he then turns on the Mr Romantic side and asks to kiss Whitney on their 2nd date. What a sweetie!
When they can't keep their hands off each other after this 'proper' date, it just goes to show, a bit of old fashioned romance goes a long way!
Even for the cray-crays…
