Toughing it OUT
There’s something about the Australian outback - as Dajana pointed out with her ‘Wolf Creek-style-nowhere’ description - that’s a little eerie. Okay, a lot eerie.
At least, that’s certainly how it seems in episode six - as we see ten become nine after an unprecedented disqualification.
I wanted to make this post about the hair. I really did. And yes, Jen Hawkins had hers super straight at eliminations. But you know what? Not even we, the (truly) hair obsessed can deny what went on in this episode just gone. And if we did, we’d be totally missing the point.
Aside from the obvious shock of this ep, it was nice to see some pleasant surprises like:
- Abbie wowing judges
- Maddie ‘killing it’
- Jade ‘stepping it up’
- Jez Smith’s brief return
But at the same time, it was also a little strange to find:
- Melissa struggling
- Duckie in the bottom two
I guess along with the photoshoot theme, week six really was ‘tough’ on a lot of these girls. And unfortunately, just like this week’s challenge theme (which was ironically teamwork) we saw some of the girls working together beautifully (Jade, Maddie, I’m looking at you), and some not.
I think Charlotte said it best: “It doesn't matter how beautiful you are on the outside, you've got to behave and be beautiful on the inside.” Amen. That goes for all of us.
