Proudly hailing from Taranaki, Tumehe Rongonui has been a regular face on New Zealand television for several years. He began his television career as a roving reporter on What Now before heading over to FOUR where he presented Kiwisport.
Tu now joins FOUR Live as the host of the weekly Official New Zealand Top 40 chart show on Thursdays, as well as other regular guest host responsibilities.
Tu is a performer in more ways than one. He started singing at three-years-old, picked up a guitar at the age of ten, found out he can also hold a tune, and hasn’t looked back. He released his first single ‘Nek Minnut’ through his website Youth Empire in 2011 and has more musical plans in the pipeline.
In his spare time, Tu is a self proclaimed sports fanatic and likes surfing, wakeboarding, skating, break dancing, basketball, boxing, rugby, league, and touch rugby (just to name a few).
Tu is also a bit of an adrenaline junkie and did 40 SkyJumps for the 40 Hour Famine in 2012!
He recently competed in a body building competition where he "got ripped". He's now also a personal trainer, eager to train others to get ripped too.
