With favoured-to-win AzMarie given the boot last week, the numbers on either side are even once again. I'm Team UK all the way so really hoping the Brits can keep their winning streak going!
Challenge: "Beauty is in the smize of the beholder"
The Top Model contestants take a break from being a fashion model to play role model to younger girls for Tyra's anti-bullying campaign in this week's challenge. They are each paired with one of the younger girls and have to prepare a two-minute PSA about what beauty means to them.
The Good: I really liked Team Sophie's PSA. It was fun, personable and I especially liked they had a little bit of a routine going on. I also really liked Team Annaliese; very natural and the TV presenter in Annaliese clearly shone through. Overall I think Team UK definitely did better than Team US.
The Bad: Team Kyle's PSA felt forced, in my opinion. Kyle had her arm around the girl she was paired up with but it didn't look genuine to me. I agree with Nigel Barker's observation that Team US' bond with their girls felt rather superficial.
The Ugly: I thought the simplicity of Team US' tagline – Beauty is Me – was great but how awful was their mural?! Obviously they haven't heard of the phrase "less is more". They should count themselves lucky they weren't being judged on that!
Photo Shoot: "Tomorrow you'll be the centrepiece of attention"
It's all about the "extreme tooch" in this week's shoot. The contestants have to pose as art installations at an extravagant and decadent dinner party hosted by Grammy award winner Estelle.
There is a lot going on in the shot, including two other contestants, so the aim is to stand out from them, Estelle and everything else. With Estelle hailing from the UK and the photographer also British, it looked like Team UK had a bit of a "home" advantage.
The Good: My favourite photo this week belonged to Eboni. I loved the topsy turvy look of the shot, especially that if it appeared in a magazine, you could view the shot at all angles and it would still work. Sophie delivers yet another stunning photo. Her snarl still looked pretty as she was smize-ing and even though she didn't quite nail the extreme tooch, her "lurch at the camera" pose saved her.
The Bad: Alisha's photo was depressingly dull and way too safe for such an extreme concept for a shoot. I also thought Catherine's photo was not so hot. Her "up in the air" pose was quite impressive but her face fell flat in comparison. And even though most of the judges liked Annaliese's shot, I agree with Tyra – it was more commercial than high fashion.
The Ugly: Considering she had the extra help of the training tooch, Kyle's photo was disappointing. Her face actually looked quite stunning but I just didn't understand why she positioned her left arm the way she did – looked lifeless and quite awkward. The draped steak on the shoulder was odd too.
Judging: Tooch wordplay anyone?
What did you all think of the many inventive tooch-themed words Tyra used to describe the girls' tooch in their photos? I liked "pretzel tooch" and "upside down rainbow tooch"! I'm relieved "tooch ache" got another chance but she really needs to step it up.
