Top Model Blog Ep 10 - Nicholas Tse
by Faith-Ashleigh Wong
The final five travel to Hong Kong where their acting skills are put to the test before they are taken seven hundred and sixty four feet above ground for this week's photo shoot. Doesn't the Macau Tower look very similar to our Sky Tower? Did you spot the A.J. Hackett logo?
Challenge: "The world is your stage"
The girls meet Mrs Jay for a taste of Hollywood in Asia. They learn some lines and basic martial arts moves for an action sequence which they must perform with Nicholas Tse, the "Brad Pitt of Asia".
The Good: I actually thought Eboni was the best out of everyone, apart from her messing up her last line. I felt she didn't over-act and I liked that she removed her jacket before starting the fight. Alisha and Annaliese did pretty well too, perhaps just slightly too over-dramatic.
The Bad: Sophie is so uncoordinated and way too bubbly a person to pull off a badass fighter. I totally agree with what Alisha said about her looking like a fairy – the thing about her throwing a punch and glitter coming out was hilarious!
The Ugly: I know Laura's very sexual by nature but she really overdid it, in my opinion. I get she was channelling Tomb Raider but it was way too sexy for my liking. I'm probably also being biased because I don't like Angelina Jolie.
Photo Shoot: "Only the early risers make it to the top"
This challenge was certainly the most psychologically daunting, particularly for those who are afraid of heights. I've a sense of humour but I do think that "Caution – People Falling" sign was a bit too far and certainly did not help the girls (minus Laura) in the slightest!
The Good: My favourite photo this week was Annaliese's. She was the only one who utilized the harness in to the shot, using it as a prop to form her pose. I really liked the archer stance, very warrior princess.
The Bad: Alisha once again disappoints with a very dull photo especially considering her exciting surroundings. It really is such a shame that she is not photogenic as physically she ticks all the boxes and completely looks the part.
The Ugly: What was Eboni thinking?! Her pose was just weird and looked extremely awkward; the positioning of her arm was disproportionate to her headpiece and the way she was standing threw everything off balance. I agree with Tyra; she really needs to learn what angles work for her face.
Judging: Five become Three
The judges picked the right contestant to be eliminated but an unexpected quitter sees two girls walk out the door in the end. I don't know about you, but I was certainly not expecting that!
