Ten Reasons I'm Looking Forward to All Stars
Review by Faith-Ashleigh Wong
1. Let’s get the most obvious out of the way. Fourteen of the most memorable, competitive and controversial girls from previous cycles all back under the same roof? Some may say that’s a recipe for disaster but I say it makes for entertaining television! I can already smell the drama and hear the claws coming out.
2. MAKEOVER episode! Or as Tyra calls it – the TY-OVER. Every cycle this is the episode that I look forward to the most. So much hair, so many tears and so many great looks. This cycle’s Ty-over should be interesting because all these girls have gone through it before – will there still be tears and tantrums second time round?
3. ALLISON! She is my all time favourite “Top Model that didn’t win”. This wide-eyed, reserved blonde that has a strange obsession with blood (yes, blood) – she is just so wonderfully weird! She took some killer photos in her original cycle so I cannot wait to see more!
4. The Michael Jackson photo-shoot. It’s going to be pretty epic - think of all the looks the legendary King of Pop has carried throughout his career? Someone had better be donning the “Smooth Criminal” look.
5. I am very keen to see how Isis will do in this cycle. “Born in the wrong body” as she likes to be described, Isis is ANTM’s first transgendered model. Which really means squat because she can rock a bikini like the next girl – and much better too, I might add!
6. The girls co-writing their own songs and starring in their own music videos – this I have to see. Could be very awkward if any of them were tone deaf. Or had two left feet. Or worse – both.
7. New Top Model lingo...oh yeah! “Pot Ledom” – seemingly so obvious but yet no one else but Tyra could have come up with it because if anyone else did it would just sound stupid. Tyra somehow manages to make up the silliest words and make them not only sound cool but perfectly plausible as a “word used in fashion”.
8. Live judging is going to be a very interesting addition to the show’s format. There are bound to be some haters in the crowd and I’m curious to see how the girls will react.
9. Does size really matter? I hope Laura, the only girl representing the petite cycle can stand up tall and stand apart from the rest as I do think she really has what it takes. Can’t wait to see her sport more of her grandmother’s tailor-made couture!
10. Last but certainly not least – Tyson Beckford. ‘Nough said.
