A Guide to Keeping Fit in NZ

Despite being a desired holiday destination – the Biggest Loser contestants were put through their paces – New Zealand styles! Here's what they decided were the top 5 things to do in Auckland.

1. The Sky Tower: You can take the lift – or you can exercise your way up those 51 flights of stairs (and 1027 steps). Then take the easy way down (if you're under the weight limit!) by throwing yourself off the top with the Sky Jump.

2. Sailing: It's not called the City of Sails for nothing – and if you want to mix up your workout you can do a bit of pumping and grinding on the high seas. The final nine got to try their hand at racing a NZL68 – one of the official America's Cup boats.

3. The Auckland Domain: with the museum in the background and plenty of wide open spaces, it's the perfect back drop for a spot of jogging or some press ups.

4. Bethells Beach: Through out the series the Biggest Loser contestants have learned to dread the '5K' challenge. But if doing it on a treadmill looks hard, wait till you try running down hills, through streams, up sand dunes and across beaches (all the while trying to appreciate the beauty that is a West Coast New Zealand beach).

5. Yoga: a popular pass time for many New Zealander's, Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper shows us that Yoga is not synonymous with relaxing.
