Ted Crisp is played by Jay Harrington.

Television audiences will know Jay Harrington as the love interest to leading ladies Teri Hatcher on Desperate Housewives and Lori Laughlin on Summerland, and now, in the title role of Better Off Ted.

Starting on a small stage in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Harrington knew early on that he wanted to act. A triple threat (actor-singer-dancer), he graduated from Syracuse University’s theater program ready to take on the acting world and moved to New York to spend some time doing off-Broadway theater before heading to Los Angeles.

Harrington has had a recurring role on Private Practice and has also appeared on The Inside and Coupling. Other television credits include Ghost Whisperer, Las Vegas, The Division, The Shield, Without a Trace and the television movie Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy. His feature film credits include Partners, Whatever It Takes and Anywhere But Here.
