It's International Women's Day so we've listed our top 10 favourite women for 2013!
1. Elizabeth Meriwether
The creator of New Girl is super adorkable with a rad fashion sense, and she's even based the character of Jess on herself.
The 30-year-old blonde from Miami studied playwriting at Yale University before writing the 2011 romantic comedy No Strings Attached.
New Girl was initially conceived as 'Chicks and Dicks' before being renamed 'New Girl'. She is now developing side projects for Fox.
2. Tina Fey
Tina wrote, produced and starred in the acclaimed series 30 Rock, which just ended on FOUR last Monday.
She also wrote the hilarious films Mean Girls, Baby Mama and Date Night. She's received a host of awards including Emmys and Screen Actors Guild awards.
She became very well known after her impersonation of Sarah Palin in 2008 for Saturday Night Live.
She's one of those women who doesn't need a last name (like Adele or Madonna) to be known around the world for her work.
The beautiful 31-year-old doesn't rest. She's already been in Destiny's Child, released four solo albums, won 17 Grammy Awards, 12 MTV Video Music Awards and was ranked 3rd on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Music list.
She performs in extravagant concerts with exhaustive dance routines, whilst belting out her number 1 songs.
4. Zooey Deschanel
Zooey stars as Jess in New Girl and previously found a fan following after starring films like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Failure to Launch, Yes Man and 500 Days of Summer.
She also sings in the musical duo She & Him with M. Ward. A side of project of her's is HelloGiggles.com a website for women that has intelligent articles and videos from contributers. She is currently working with fellow web producer Sophia Rossi to produce new TV shows for Fox.
The 22-year-old featured in Gotye's single Somebody That I Used to Know, released her debut album Vows and suddenly propelled to super stardom last year.
As the 3rd Kiwi singer to get a Grammy, she's already into a whirlwind musical career that's just beginning.

6. Urzila Carlson
She only recently got in comedy but is a natural at it. Since 2008 she has won 'Best Newcomer' 2008, 'Best Female Comedian' at the 2010 and 2011 NZ Comedy Guild Awards.
In 2010 Urzila got nominated for a Billy T Comedy Award and the following year she travelled to Adelaide to perform her solo show, A whole lotta woman.
She's currently starring as the 'no bullshit' receptionist on TV3's new comedy The Radio.

7. Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen is already 55 years old and has an impressive television career behind her. She starred in the sitcom Ellen from 1994 to 1998 and currently hosts The Ellen DeGeneres show.
Her marriage to Portia de Rossi is well-known and she's been outspoken about her love life including work as a spokesperson for various LGBT movements.
She has launched the careers of two young starlets Sophia Grace and Rosie, after they posted their cover of Superbass by Nicki Minaj on YouTube a few years back.
8. Helen Clark
The Right Honourable Helen Clark was the first woman elected at a general election in New Zealand and served three consecutive terms as the Prime Minister.
Following that she has been Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, the third highest UN position.
Her latest work has been to ensure all women have access to reproductive health services as a human right.
9. Ruby Frost
The 25 year old popstar is already fronting X Factor NZ as a judge after releasing her debut album Voalition.
She's done campaigns for Glassons and featured in the Flight of the Conchords single Feel Inside for Cure Kids.

10. Mindy Kaling
Mindy starred as the ditsy (but very-relateable to women) Kelly on The Office (U.S version). She then wrote and produced episodes of this cult show, only to land her own show The Mindy Project!
She also launched her first book 'Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)" which is already a best-seller.
The Mindy Project premieres on FOUR Monday at 9:30pm!
