Nick and Jess Romance On the Cards?

Jake Johnson says his character Nick is "back to being in love with Jess" in season 2 of New Girl.
"At the Paley Festival, every other question from the crowd was, 'How come there's not more of Nick and Jess?' The next script we got was, 'OK, these characters are back to being in love with each other'.
"Part of me thinks that the people spoke, and the writers listened. In my little conspiracy theory world, that's what happened."
It's still the plea of many of fans who have been vocal ';Nick and Jess' shippers since the start.
Fandom about the two is seen online with romantic FanFiction, dedicated Tumblrs, and fan videos.
However, some bloggers have questioned whether a romance would ruin New Girl.
Daynah Burnett at wetpaint.com says "One of TV's biggest pitfalls – when two main characters who seem perfect for one another hook up, it can be satisfying at first, but the pairing ultimately causes the show to lose its sizzle (Moonlight and the X-Files are classic examples). Perhaps that's what's stopping New Girl's Jess and Nick from getting together?"
It remains to be seen whether an over-arching ';will they? won't they?' storyline is intended by the writers, or whether romance will blossom in season 2 like Jake suspects, or if no romance is planned at all…
In the meantime, fans can go nuts.
