Get ready for a fashion event that will re-write the record books! On Saturday 8th March, and as part of 10 Days of Fashion in the City, New Zealand's Longest Catwalk Presented by Schwarzkopf will literally bring Queen Street to a stand-still. In the place of bustling traffic, a 125m catwalk will be built in the Heart of the City between Shortland Street and Wyndham Street.
Before the Queen Street catwalk takes the spotlight, the ‘10 Days of Fashion in the City’ will kick off in high style with a luncheon in the sky. The exclusive event at The Sugar Club by Peter Gordon at the top of the Sky Tower will see guests meet designers including Trelise Cooper, Adrian Hailwood, Yvonne Bennetti and Kathryn Wilson as well as seeing their designs on show.
Fashion takes a less traditional form than the usual catwalk shows for ‘Hello, We Are The New Zealand Fashion Museum’ a free exhibition featuring four unique fashion heritage stories at Silo Park in Wynyard Quarter.
New Zealand's Longest Catwalk will see 40 models parade 80 in-season outfits from the city’s most coveted boutiques and fast fashion retailers – from Huffer to Moochi and Glassons and many more. Join Shannon Ryan as she unveils this fashion extravaganza in an event that's not to be missed! Enjoy pre-show entertainment by DJ Nick D from 12pm.
10 Days of Fashion in the City takes place in Auckland city from the 28th Feburary till the 9th of March. Head to heartofthecity.co.nz/fashion for more info.
