Murray was born in Cowra in 1960 and is the eldest of three children. He attended school in Cowra, Orange and Carringbah. He started playing guitar at eleven. As a teenager he performed in amateur musicals such as The Sound of Music and played in school bands. During the 80’s he worked in the public service and played in various bands including The Finger Guns who released three singles.
Murray studied early childhood education at Macquarie University where he met Anthony and Yellow Wiggle, Greg and graduated in 1990. He was a music teacher at Kegworth Public School in Leichhardt in 1991 and was a tutor in early childhood education and taught pre school at Macquarie University in 1992. He has performed as a Wiggle since 1991 and has loved every minute of it. "Children are the best audiences!"
He loves listening to music, seeing live bands and spending time with his family. He lives in Sydney and is married with two children, a son and a daughter.
