New Girl is Jake Johnson's second project with executive producer/writer Liz Meriwether after he starred in the feature film No Strings Attached.
A native of Chicago, Johnson is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2004, he has worked extensively in the entertainment industry as both an actor and writer. He has had the fortune of working with industry natives like David Mamet, Larry David, Bob Odenkirk, John Landis, Ivan Reitman, Nick Stoller and Adam McKay.
Jake’s credits include Paper Heart opposite Michael Cera and Charlyne Yi and Ceremony with Uma Thurman. He also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm; the feature film adaptation of 21 Jump Street opposite Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum; and the comedies Ass Backwards and Safety Not Guaranteed with Kristen Bell and Aubrey Plaza. Johnson can also be heard in the animated series Allen Gregory as the voice of "Joel Zadak."
Jake loves basketball and tennis and is a member of both the Sunday Men's Basketball League and the Interstate 5 Tennis Association.
