Auckland born Gerard Seth joined Sticky TV as a presenter in 2011. He enjoys listening to music, writing poetry and is a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers! Gerry is half Dutch and is keen to learn the language someday!

Favourite subject at school?

English! I used to write a crazy amount of poetry at school and entered competitions and loved all the cool stories and poems we were given to study.

Favourite music?

I like all music genres, but my top two are probably hip-hop and metal. If I could only listen to two artists, it’d probably be Metallica and Kanye West.

New things you want to try

1. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – it’s good for fitness and you learn a bit of self-defense too.

2. Learn some slick dance moves – you can’t help but feel like a boss dancing with some mean moves.

3. Learn Dutch. I’m half Dutch, I see my Dutch relatives all the time and have family in Holland, so I reckon knowing the language would definitely be an advantage.

Who was your role model growing up?

Batman. I must’ve been 3 or 4 when I got hooked on to Batman and I don’t really know why. He’s a hero who fights for the greater good, he’s really intelligent and he’s got a wicked suit. Out of all the superheroes his swag is off the charts. What a boss.

What sports teams do you back?

I support the All Blacks, the Warriors, the Breakers and Manchester United. But the team I’ve been backing ever since I was a wee child are the Los Angeles Lakers. I’m a huge Lakers fan, Kobe Bryant’s my favourite player, and I’m hoping they win the Championship this year!

What is your favourite internet abbreviation?

Probably “SMH” which means shake my head. Whenever I see something that makes me go “Ughh” on my Twitter or Facebook, SMH instantly comes to mind.

What’s one song on your iPod that you’re ashamed of.

Wow. Uh… probably Celine Dion’s greatest hits. Power of Love specifically.

Who would win in a fight between a Lion and a Shark?

I’ve actually thought about this. First of all you have to put them on a battlefield where the advantage is even. Lions can’t be on water, sharks can’t be on land. So you have to drop them out of a plane, and then let them scrap it out. I reckon the Lion takes it out. He’s got claws, he’s got a bite. Game Over.

What’s your favourite smell?

Probably homecooking. You know when you walk into the kitchen and mum is making a mean as meal. Yeah, that smell.

If you could have any animal as a pet what would it be?

Give me a dragon. I'll fly around the world and burn things with that beast.

What is the grossest thing you’ve eaten?

Chicken Feet. It tasted real good though!

If animals could talk in their own languages, what animal language would you want to speak?

Cat. Definitely.
