Fans of The Simpsons attempt Guiness World Record for 500th Episode
By Holly Roberts
Die hard Simpsons fans are gathering in Los Angeles today to watch all episodes of The Simpsons for over 96 hours to celebrate 500 episodes.
The marathon starts in Los Angeles at 5.30pm Wednesday 9th Feb with the first ever Simpsons episode and finishes at night on Sunday 12th Feb with the unveiling of the 500th episode.
It’s hoped the marathon will beat the current Guiness World Record for the longest continuous television viewing at 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds.
Currently 385 fans have joined the Facebook event for the marathon where they’ll settle in for a serious couch potato job with various cast members from The Simpsons and free donuts.
It is not stated whether a medical supervisor will be needed for the extended lack of mobility combined with these unhealthy (yet delicious) treats.
The current record is held by three men who entered a ’24 Marathon Challenge’ to see who could watch episodes of the TV show ‘24’ back-to-back while sitting in a plexi-glass cube.
We wish these Simpsons fans luck!
