Outgoing and well spoken, casino hostess Darlene says she is often misjudged as 'stuck up'.
"I don't label people because I've been labelled my entire life," she admits. "I think everyone just sees me and they think, 'Oh, she's gonna be such a stuck up cow.' But really, I'm not."
Raised by her father in Darwin, Darlene grew up on the family farm riding motorbikes, feeding animals, fixing sprinklers and
driving tractors. It wasn't until the age of 14 that her sister introduced her to make-up, fancy underwear and shoes
because "growing up with boys you didn't have that".
Her exotic appeal and long legs quickly secured her a modelling contract by the age of 16.
"I just see modelling as a hobby, something that you like doing and if you can get paid for it then what a bonus."
Darlene is hoping her geek can finally teach her all the science terminologies she couldn't get her head around at school and maybe even improve her geography.
"My dad asked me, 'What's the capital of Spain?' last week.
And I said, 'Mexico.' He's like, 'Oh, Darlene! You're part Spanish and you don't know what the capital of Spain is?'"
She's looking forward to forming a lifelong friendship with her geek after she hopefully has some impact in bringing him out of his shell.
"I'm gonna teach him to come out of his shell, how to speak to women. Because of my upbringing, growing up with boys, I think that he's going to get along with me. Cause if they are the type of guys who are very insecure and if you can help someone like that that's really great."
She says her dream date would be a picnic on the hill, staring up at the country stars.
"I love the moon. I have a weird connection with the moon. I always thought, when I was little, I was gonna walk on the moon."
