It's time for another round of castings! The remaining Top Model contestants get another opportunity to rub shoulders with the fashion elite at an event for the Dorchester Collection.
Challenge: Hello Fashion Mafia, Hello Real Modelling World
The girls have to impress a pool of designers and hope they stand out from the group and get picked to open a fashion show. Everyone who is anyone in the fashion industry was going to be there so the pressure was on the girls to show the industry what they're made of.
The Good: Go Team UK! Unsurprisingly Sophie once again, just like in Toronto, was the only girl who impressed more than one designer, opening for both Giulietta and Siki Im. Alisha was a given for Anndra Neen as the line suited her to a tee. I was incredibly pleased Annaliese got picked too as it would show the judges that she is not just a commercial model.
The Bad: Poor Catherine did the one thing that every model hopes never happens in front of a designer – trip. At least it was during casting and not on the catwalk itself! Eboni was far too intense and robotic while Seymone's walk had a weird combination of swaying her arms while licking her lips?! Sophie's impersonation was hilarious!
The Ugly: Hello Seymone's bad attitude, long time no see. Oh wait, that's not true. After her walk receives negative feedback from Kelly Cutrone, Seymone does the thing she always does when things don't go her way: pull a diva and sulk for the rest of the day. Ugh. I'm glad the others called her up on it though I don't think it had any impact on her.
Photo Shoot: Hello Couture, Hello Kitty
This week's photo shoot is all about couture but with a fun and feline twist. I'm not a Hello Kitty fan and the outfits were a bit crazy – but in a good way! I liked the lunchbox one the best!
The Good: I loved Alisha's photo! From her Elvis snarl to her "glamatronica" pose, she was modelling from H2T and completely owning her look. Laura did her trademark lopsided pose again which worked with the whimsical theme of the shoot but I do agree with the judges – nothing wrong with her liking to bend and contort as she does it so well but could she be just a one-trick pony?
The Bad: Of all the contestants this should have been a breeze for Eboni considering her intoxibella power is "30 Never". But as we've been seeing from week to week, she has been struggling with, and in a way, rebelling against her brand. This week's shoot was pretty much tailor-made for her and she didn't take advantage of it. Her photo had no sense of fun and playfulness; it was just dull.
The Ugly: Here we go again. The headpiece that Seymone had to don was really heavy and that basically affected her shoot. I felt like shaking her! Laura had on a skirt full of lunchboxes and you don't see her complaining. Her dislike for the headpiece and her discomfort definitely showed in her photo; the pose was very "Modelling 101" and as Tyra said, more show and tell.
Judging: Bad Kitty, Goodbye Kitty
Team UK really dominated this week in both the challenge and photo shoot. Unsurprisingly Eboni and Seymone are in the bottom two. Tyra, you should have just made it a double elimination!
